Cleanrooms and cleanrooms are two types of facilities specifically designed to maintain a clean environment. Although both constitute a clean working environment, there are significant differences in multiple aspects. The following is a detailed analysis of the main differences between the two:
1、 Definition and difference in purpose
Cleanroom:
A clean room, also known as a clean workspace or simple clean room, is an air purification equipment that can provide a locally high cleanliness environment.
It is usually used to protect specific items or experimental processes from contamination, and is suitable for scenarios where cleanliness is a certain requirement but the entire workshop does not need to maintain high cleanliness.
Cleanroom:
A clean room, also known as a cleanroom or cleanroom, is a closed environment created through air filtration and environmental control technology, with extremely low aerosol concentration, microbial count, and particulate matter content.
It is mainly used in scenarios that require the entire workshop to maintain high cleanliness, such as production, manufacturing, and experimental processes in industries such as precision electronics, optoelectronics, and pharmaceuticals.
2、 Differences in size and design
Cleanroom:
Usually small, the internal space height is generally around 2 meters, and the coverage area is mostly below 50 square meters.
The frame materials are diverse, such as stainless steel square pipes, iron square pipes, aluminum profiles, etc. The top materials also include stainless steel plates, cold-rolled steel plates sprayed with plastic, anti-static mesh curtains, etc.
It can be designed and manufactured according to usage requirements, with multiple cleanliness levels and space combinations, and is easy to disassemble and move.
Cleanroom:
Usually larger, it can meet the requirements of cleanliness, temperature, pressure, airflow velocity, and airflow distribution within a specific range of needs.
The structure is complex and includes more equipment and functions, such as stainless steel walls, special flooring, air cleaning devices, humidity and temperature control systems, etc.
3、 Differences in filtration systems
Cleanroom:
Generally, FFU laminar air supply units are used to purify the air through equipment such as primary air filters.
Cleanliness is usually at ISO level 7 or lower, allowing for a certain amount of particulate matter to exist.
Cleanroom:
Adopting more complex filtration systems, including air filters, air flow regulation systems, etc., to ensure that indoor air contains almost no particulate matter.
The cleanliness requirements vary depending on the needs of different industries and application areas, and can reach up to ISO level 1 with almost no particulate matter present.
4、 Difference between construction cost and maintenance
Cleanroom:
The construction cost is relatively low, about 40% to 60% of the cost of a cleanroom.
Fast construction speed, easy installation, and easy control and maintenance.
Cleanroom:
The construction cost is high, including more equipment and functions.
The construction speed is slow, but it has higher stability and durability.
5、 Difference between usage environment and comfort level
Cleanroom:
The internal space is relatively enclosed and lacks an independent air supply system. Using a large number of FFUs may result in excessive noise and stuffiness.
Suitable for the protection of specific items or experimental processes that do not require high cleanliness.
Cleanroom:
Equipped with an independent air supply system and higher comfort level.
Suitable for scenarios where high cleanliness is required throughout the entire workshop.
In summary, there are significant differences between clean rooms and dust-free workshops in terms of definition, size and design, filtration systems, construction costs and maintenance, as well as usage environment and comfort. The choice between a clean room or a dust-free workshop depends on the specific application scenario and requirements.
Xuzhou Jiesen Clean Room Manufacturer is committed to the design and construction of clean rooms and dust-free rooms, with over 10 years of experience and professional reliability.
